About Me

Hello! I am Antara

I’m the mind behind Medusa’s Musings—a mythology-loving high schooler with a passion for science and storytelling. By day, I juggle academics, research, and varsity fencing (state champ, by the way). I work under Dr. Tsang at Columbia’s Department of Ophthalmology, compete nationally in HOSA, and am even publishing a book on microbiology.

Beyond science, I volunteer with the National Charity League, help develop tech for speech-impaired individuals, and geek out over Greek myths—especially Zeus’s many (many) questionable choices. If you love ancient legends, medical mysteries, or just a little wit with your wisdom, you’re in the right place. Just don’t look directly at me—I take my Medusa branding seriously.

Reading these myth essays feels like sitting beside a wiser, gentler version of myself. Antara doesn’t just retell myths — she reclaims them with purpose.

Each post challenges what I thought I knew about these stories. I’ve never related to Medusa, Echo, or Pandora more — until now.

Beautifully written, deeply researched, and emotionally resonant. I came for mythology, but stayed for the truth it revealed about our world.

This blog gave me language for things I’ve felt for years — the quiet rage, the silence, the split identities. It’s mythology that speaks back.

What Antara does with these myths is both poetic and political. She doesn’t just explain — she empowers.
