Welcome to Medusa’s Musings

I’m excited to welcome you to Medusa’s Musings, a little corner of the internet dedicated to exploring Greek mythology. This blog is a fun project born from a lifelong passion of mine, which began in my childhood when I read all about the adventures of Percy Jackson.

As a kid, the world of Percy Jackson was my escape into the world of gods, heroes, and monsters. Rick Riordan’s blend of modern life with ancient mythology was just so captivating because it was the perfect escape from my life as a 7 year old. I remember staying up late in my closet in my family’s small condo, eager to learn more about each character and their fascinating history. 

Now fast forward 10 years later, I reread the Percy Jackson series once a year and continue to find myself fascinated by how interesting I find the history detailed in the books. That’s why I created Medusa’s Musings. Not only will I recount myths but I hope to explain their deeper significance in our lives today. Just as Percy Jackson introduced me to the magic hidden within the ordinary, I hope to reveal how these ancient tales continue to shape our modern lives. Whether it’s Achilles’ downfall or the strength of Hercules, these stories offer timeless lessons that many people do not realize have significance in the modern world.

Through this blog, I hope to dive into the origins, evolutions, and influence of Greek myths. I hope that I can create a community where both lovers of mythology and the average joe alike can come together to celebrate these stories, and maybe learn a thing or two.

Starting Medusa’s Musings is a tribute to a spark ignited by reading Percy Jackson. This spark has grown into a passion for sharing the magic of these stories. Welcome aboard, and let the musings begin!
